Summary:
The position of Mental Health Therapist is under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, with the expectation to meet and maintain standard productivity per hours worked according to county contracts requirements for Medi-Cal billable or direct service to clients.
BBS licensed track therapist.
This position must be available to respond to Mental Health clinic intakes during shift, including individual and family therapy with children and their families, and individual therapy with adults with serious mental disorders.

Since 1948, Family & Children Services of Silicon Valley (FCS) has been promoting the resilience, safety, and wellness of individuals, families, and communities throughout Santa Clara County.
FCS brings its counseling, prevention, and support services to dozens of community locations, including schools, community centers, jails, and health clinics.
FCS counsels children and teens coping with the effects of trauma, provides a way forward for adults in recovery from addiction, and empowers families to heal from violence and abuse.
FCS merged with and became a division of Caminar in January 2017.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

oProvide direct service to adults, children, and families using Wellness and Recovery model of care per the Santa Clara County Mental Health Department system of care.
Most clients have dual diagnoses, both mental health and substance abuse disorders.
oPrimary role is to complete assessments and treatment plans, determine ongoing treatment in collaboration with case managers (as appropriate) and providing individual, family and group therapy in accordance with the developed TCP treatment planoProvide assessment, crisis intervention, and diagnosis.
Use engagement skills to develop narrative summaries and treatment plans using Transformational Care Planning model for all clients assigned to caseload.
oIdentify changing needs of clients and assist clients to transition appropriately to higher or lower level of care.
oDiscuss progress toward treatment goals with client and family.
oConsults with medical doctor or other specialists concerning treatment plan and amends plan as directed.
oRefers client to supportive services to supplement treatment.
oCollaborate with Case managers, as appropriate, using a team approach to determine ongoing care and meeting clients of goals.
oCase management to link clients and families to community resources.
oComply thoroughly with County Mental Health contract documentation and auditing standards and requirements in a timely manner.
oParticipate in individual supervision/program meetings.

oEducation - Master's degree in Marriage Family Therapy, Social Work, or Clinical Psychology.
oCalifornia BBS registered intern as AMFT, ASW, APCC required.
CA BBS licensed LMFT, LCSW, LPCC required.
oExperience - 2-5 years of therapy related work experience.
oLanguage skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and clinical documents.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients and other professionals.
oComputer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software and standard office software as well as the ability to develop competency in specialized clinical software as needed.
oBilingual English/Spanish preferredoLived in community, educational and/or professional experience with diverse LGBTQ culture/issues preferredoThorough clinical knowledge and experience in providing mental health services to children, adults, and families.
oThorough understanding and experience in the delivery of services to an ethnically and economically diverse population.
oMedi-Cal Mental Health experience in Santa Clara County preferred.

oOccasionally required to move equipment weighing about 15 pounds during play therapy sessions or moving files.
oOccasionally works outdoors and will move to different locations.
Special Requirements:
oMust be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance, as required by Title XXII, other licensing regulations, and Caminar practices.
oThis position requires frequent driving.
A valid California driver license, reliable personal vehicle, current personal auto insurance as required by law, and an MVR sufficient to obtain and reasonably maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies are all essential job requirements.
oMust be able to pass post offer, pre-employment medical and drug tests as required under State Community Care Licensing regulations and/or agency policies.
oMay be required to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
