Our client, a computer hardware manufacturing company, is looking for a Director of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting to join their team.
LOCATION:
San Jose and Irvine, CA. This role will be in a hybrid capacity.
Job Description:
This role requires a highly motivated and experienced accounting professional that can lead a team that can partner with operations to address complex transactions and oversee SEC and other external financial reporting.
In this leadership role, you will develop and mentor your team, oversee preparation and filing of financial reporting with the SEC and other external parties, partner with other business functions on projects to address accounting and reporting implications for complex transactions, monitor developments at the SEC and FASB and implement solutions to maintain effective and efficient processes and controls to support external reporting in compliance with applicable standards.
This position is best suited for an accounting professional who possesses strong communication, organization, technology and leadership skills as well as enjoys working in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Oversee execution of periodic filings with the SEC; including financial statement preparation, related notes, Management Discussion and Analysis of Financial Condition and Results of Operations, and other applicable reporting obligationsCoordinate with Independent Registered Public Accounting Firm on execution of annual audit and quarterly review; including liaising with general accounting and other business functions to ensure timely execution and completionBuild and maintain relationships across functions, including business operations, general accounting, tax, treasury, legal and HR to ensure timely communication and review of reporting mattersMonitor developments at SEC and FASB for potential impacts on accounting or disclosure, educate business on potential impacts, and partner with development of any necessary system developments or process improvementsPrepare and present information as necessary to aid Audit Committee in fulfillment of its oversight obligationsAct as global technical lead on strategic transactions to identify accounting and reporting obligations or issues and assist with actions required for execution or implementationGuide and motivate a team of accounting professionals to grow their career, including development of technical and presentation skill sets.REQUIREMENTS:
Undergraduate Degree in Finance/Accounting (or equivalent experience) with knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements with 10 years of overall experienceActive CPA license6 years of managing a team.Hands-on experience with filings of 10-K, 10-Q, Proxy and other SEC filings associated with financial reportingExperience with multinational operations functioning in various currenciesDemonstrated experience with process and system automation.Experienced in leading cross functional projects and related management presentations.Solid knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Oracle and SAP)Consistent record of accomplishment of establishing relationships with cross-functional business partnersReal passion for continuous improvement of systems and processesA leader who takes additional responsibilities as they progress and stays committed to providing an environment that fosters career growth and development for the team.COMPENSATION:
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure:
up to $207K 30% bonus equity. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
