Technical Specialist, Battery

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility.
We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 60 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

What You'll Do:
In the Technical Specialist role you will be responsible for solving difficult cross-functional issues with Archer's HV battery system.
You will perform battery teardowns and root cause analysis - contributing to the development and verification cycle.
You will also work closely with the battery design, BMS, cell, and test teams, contributing your expertise to improve future iterations of the battery.
Create battery teardown proceduresOwn the root cause analysis of field failures and ensure corrective actions are implemented to prevent future failuresValidation of battery requirementsCreate battery end-of-line test specificationsDevelopment of the HV battery DFMEAContribute to hands-on abuse testing - planning, setup, execution, and analysisLead HV system optimization studiesWhat You Need:
Masters Degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, physics, or similarMinimum of 5 years of HV battery experienceHands on experience with HV battery teardownsExperience in battery cell, pack, and abuse developmentAbility to organize and lead cross-functional efforts Experience with root cause and/or problem solving methodologies (8D, 5 whys, etc)Ability to travel domesticallyStrong presentation skillsBonus
Qualifications:

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company's business strategy.
For this position we are targeting a base pay between $163,000 - $204,000.
Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
