Air Vehicle Certification Engineer
Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility.
We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 100 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

What you ll do:
Authoring detailed test plans and reports that will be used to show compliance in structures, materials and processes, cabin systems, landing gear, and mechanical systems.
Preparing and updating documentation for Air Vehicle engineering certification deliverables (e.
g.
Means of Compliance, Certification Plans)Leading the resolution and response to regulatory issues (e.
g.
Issue Papers) including coordinating with the affected engineering disciplines to investigate and resolve the issues and drafting or reviewing Archer technical positions and responsesSupporting certification test plan development and test execution at on-site and off-site facilities.
What you need:
BS in in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field10
years working on the certification of aircraft structures and systemsIn-depth knowledge of FAA regulations, guidelines, and advisory circulars pertaining to aircraft structures, interiors, and mechanical systems.
Ability to lead and coordinate content creation and issue resolution involving diverse groups of technical expertsFamiliarity with certification standards and requirements of other aviation authorities Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technical issues and propose effective solutionsDetail-oriented approach with a high level of accuracy in documentation and compliance.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, regulatory authorities, and external stakeholdersBonus
Qualifications:
End-to-end experience in one or more civil aviation programs, from initial application and Certification Basis definition to type certificate approvalExpertise in wing, fuselage, empennage, interiors, mechanisms, landing gear, and materials and process Experience in testing including instrumentation, data acquisition, and documenting and analyzing resultsAt Archer we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent that possess the skills and leadership necessary to grow our business.
We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company s business strategy.
For this position we are targeting a base pay between$151,680 - $189,600.
Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
