Job Description:
Responsibilities
Independently review, draft, and negotiate complex commercial contracts, such as services agreements, purchase agreements, professional services agreements, vendor agreements, sales channel agreements, and technology transfer agreements (both inbound and outbound), that comply with Broadcom's policies and risk tolerance.
Advise internal business organizations and clients, including product development and marketing, sales, and executive management. Craft alternatives and present solutions to achieve business objectives.
Prioritize and manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure.
Coordinate legal matters with outside counsel.
Maintain and improve standard form agreements and contracting processes as needed for changing business requirements.
Coordinate with other business, corporate and IP in-house counsel who support other areas of the company, including engaging in cross-department initiatives
Conduct educational presentations on legal and regulatory matters as needed
Assist with M&A integration matters as needed
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and bar admission (California preferred) required
Minimum of four years legal experience, with at least two years in-house experience preferred
Ability to communicate legal and compliance issue to clients in a clear and concise manner
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, superior negotiation skills, and sound business judgment
Experience interacting with and advising executive management strongly preferred
Position requires in-depth analysis of complex legal and regulatory issues involving, among other things, the interplay of legal requirements in various jurisdictions; candidate must have demonstrated experience in resolving challenging legal issues and ability to deliver succinct, accurate and practical legal advice in a business setting
Must be able to work well with a wide range of different groups and personalities
Chinese language skills and previous international business experience preferred.
