But, for this to work, we as a society would need vastly more testing capacity than is currently available.
Unfortunately, today we live in a world of scarcity where COVID-19 testing is heavily rationed.
Until we have an effective vaccine available in billions of doses, high-volume testing capacity would be of great help, but getting that done will take collective action by NGOs, companies, and governments.
For our part, Amazon has begun the work of building incremental testing capacity.
We are looking an Operational Analyst, an individual with a history of high performance to support R&D Clinical Laboratory team to optimize and manage day-to-day activities and report across the business.
This position will be based out of the Amazon offices in San Jose.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to complete complex tasks and projects quickly with little to no guidance, react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround, be able to take effective action without having to know the total picture, and efficiently and proactively solve difficult or complex problems that affect people within the department or other related groups.
The position requires the capacity to work successfully in a team environment, build effective working relationships & maintain a comprehensive awareness of the organization and become the go-to person for support activities.

Responsibilities:
Single Threaded Owner (STO) for all aspects of clinical testing laboratory operation Manage documentation including, but not limited to, bills of materials and routine change orders Support a clinical testing laboratory activities such as ordering testing materials, equipment, and lab supplies Identify operational process gap and establish user guides for clinical staffs to follow Partner across functional team (finance, engineering, operation, clinical) to provide operational info as needed Consistently exercise discretion and independent judgment in providing day-to-day supporting of high complexity laboratory environment Monitor laboratory expenditures to ensure complying Amazon Spending Transaction Policy Develop monthly, quarterly, annually spend budget required to support financial planning Working closely with clinical team to establish KPIs to measure laboratory operational effectiveness.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
