The selected candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, support and upgrade of R&D lab equipment and facilities in SunPower s advanced solar cell and module development labs.

The successful candidate must demonstrate broad expertise in multiple photovoltaic/semiconductor equipment technologies, such as wet processing, chemical vapor deposition (CVD), plasma-enhanced CVD, atmospheric CVD, laser processing, high vacuum semiconductor processing, etc.

Primary duties will include:

  • Maintain lab equipment in good operable condition at all times.
  • Oversee the installation, modification, upgrade & maintenance of prototype, lab & manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintain vendor networks to stay updated on trends & developments in the equipment industry.
  • Establish programs and solutions for increasing uptime and correcting/avoiding equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process.
  • Provide direct support to the process development, process engineering and manufacturing equipment maintenance engineering organizations in order to assure proper operation of equipment for efficient execution of experiments.
  • Design experiments, compile & evaluate test data to determine appropriate limits & variables for equipment design specifications.
  • Plan projects involving the definition & selection of new concepts, equipment technology & approaches.

Minimum Education and
Experience:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering and 8
    years of related experience or M.S. Degree and 6
    years
  • OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
  • Field service and/or manufacturing engineering experience a strong plus
