Antique Cocus Wood Boehm French Piccolo Flute Silver Nickel W.R. Meinell c.1890 It looks like it was re-padded sometime ago. A few keys are sticky. This flute would need to be refurbished to bring it back to performance level. I can find no cracks in the wood. Comes with the rare resin box. It seems like the lid of the case will close but I don't have the key, so I haven't closed it. This is what the appraiser said. This "French" design was either Hand Made in France (most likely) and would not have a Brand Name* There is a possibility it is an Unbranded model by English Company- Rudall & Shipped to the owner in NY. Since the flute is not stamped, it could have been ordered by a New Yorker from France or England. French hand made flutes were not Branded*. England had the largest Branded* Flute production at the time, that also sold 'Unbranded" mail order items.
